A Brighter Outlook

I changed my mind about taking on the Gecko...I was just bitter. I have now changed my view on the situation and see this as a positive. I would have loved to work there, I would have loved the extra money that it would have brought in, but the fact is it's not a dire necessity that I should work, my hubby still has a full time job and it pays well, I just know we can use extra.

The way I see it...someone else can benefit more from that job than I could have. The economy, as we all know, is still not great and there are people that need a great paying job, with benefits. So, in my mind it wasn't meant to be for me to get that job and I know that whoever got it is more deserving, or more in need. Everything does happen for a reason :)

Discrimination????

I didn't get the job. My brain stupidly forgot that on top of the full time job I had in 2004 I also had 2 part time jobs at the same time so on my application I only put that I had the one job, the thing that irritates me is that HR called to verify my background stuff and when she asked about those part time jobs (which I had only had for a month by the way) I honestly told her I had completely forgotten all about them because they weren't significant. She said it was ok stuff like this happens all the time and then asked about a job I had in 2002 and for a W2 to prove I had worked there because that job wouldn't verify information over the phone, so I searched everywhere for th W2, couldn't find it but I had A LOT of pay stubs from the job so I called her let her know what I had and waited to hear from her so I could bring her the copies....she called back 7 hours later saying she submitted my background info to "upper management" (p.s. she's the SENIOR EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST FOR THE HIRING TEAM) and they said they were stopping the process because of my forgetfullness, I never got to give her the information she was asking for.

I have a theory about all this and it has nothing to do with my forgetting the past jobs, you see the day that HR questioned me I also spoke to the nurse about my "clearance" from my doctor and she asked me questions about the frequency of doctors visits to my psychiatrist and I told her, to which she answered well I need to speak to the physician on staff about all this and then I'll let you know if you have been "cleared"....in my mind, it is discrimination, it's too coincidental that this all happened within a day, how can HR go from everything is great just give me this oh nevermind we won't be offering employment now, also according to AZ law they weren't supposed to conduct a pre-employment physical without making an official offer of employment and also they were not supposed to ask about the severity of my illness, so think I have a case?

Technically if they wouldn't have cleared me due to my mental issues then it for sure would have been discrimination so to me they made up this BS excuse to save them from a potential lawsuit! Which I am seriously contemplating doing....it's me against the Gecko!.... :)

I've been bad

I have been MIA I know, but I have a good excuse, I have been looking for a job and finally found one..a GREAT one. Now as soon as I get medical clearance proving I'm not a crazy person I will start in May..lol..yes that's right, I need medical FING clearance because I'm Bi-Polar. Who knew? LOL...So anyway, I'll jump through their hoops cause it really is a good job. School is going well, learning all about fallacies and deductive reasoning and inductive reasoning and my head is going to pop off, but otherwise all is well. So anyway, here is a "photo-dump" if you will...

Easter

This particular holiday makes me a little melancholy...I miss my grandma and my family, we used to get together and have a big dinner and now we're all spread out and my grandma passed 2 years ago this month so it's not the same...anyway...I hope that everyone, no matter your beliefs, enjoys this holiday weekend!

My picture that takes me way back:

I am the brunette, or the first girl and the other 2 girls were my BFF's in 9th grade...this picture is 16 years old... Why are we all dressed up? Well, we were going to a dance for school called Girls Reverse, we got to ask a boy and then pay for everything..lol..So, my BFF's and I all asked boys that were friends so we could do the fun groups date!

Turns out the boys we asked didn't really want to go so they stood us up...this was the picture before we knew we were being stood up.. It didn't dawn on us until about 9:30 pm that no one was coming to get us and we had missed pretty much the whole dance. We ended up calling a friend to come and get us and we went to eat a really late dinner just us girls and had fun anyway. What I wouldn't give to go back in time and give that A-Hole a piece of my mind..lol..

That's the story of this picture :) And I wish I looked that skinny still..lol.. :)

A Good Day...Looks Like This...

Changes

I am thinking about deleting some of my past posts, I am of the mindset that since I have started a new blog, I should start fresh..what do you think?

I also get to make some heavy duty health changes, so if anyone knows some great recipes that are really healthy that don't include butter (the real kind) and sugar and flour and all the stuff that makes things super yummy..lol..type 2 diabetes has taken over my body, along with hypothyroidism, so that at least explains why I have THE hardest time losing weight.

So, in honor of my new found healthy life changes I need to get rid of the chocolate chips that are sitting on my counter begging to be baked...anyone care for some cookies? No contest, just whoever wants some cookies let me know and I'll send some your way, I need to get rid of the sugar, flour and chocolate chips... (heart breaking..tears...) Ok enough wallowing!

I will focus on the positive..losing weight and becoming healthier! So, off to stroll through bloggyland now....enjoy your day bloggy friends...
